This smashed Pilsner can, I found it on the asphalt, on my way to what I called home in Prague. It caught my eye immediately. A forgotten shell, discarded, yet it spoke to me. It carried the weight of those hours after midnight, when people were wasted like this crumpled can, leaving fragments of themselves in the dim corners of small bars.
I passed by loud voices, rough laughter.
Beers dripping.
Vomit in alley shadows.
Dreams dissolving in cheap Pilsner.
The streets remember what people forget at night in this city.
